Description
Hello, my name is Vanessa,
As an accredited counsellor and ICF certified ADHD life coach, I bring over 22 years of dedicated experience to my practice. My personal journey with ADHD began with my youngest child’s diagnosis and later my own, giving me a unique, empathetic perspective that informs my professional life.
This deeply held drive and determination fuel my mission to support those with ADHD in recognizing their strengths and managing the daily challenges of living with ADHD.
I am committed to providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their behaviours and feelings. This supportive environment enables them to consider positive changes for their benefit. My passion lies in empowering people with ADHD to navigate life’s challenges confidently and achieve their personal and professional goals.
With a background rooted in a neurodiverse family, I understand and respect the profound impact of undiagnosed ADHD and Autism on individuals and their families.
My approach, and at the core of my work, involves assisting clients with:-
- understanding their diagnosis, making sense of their neurodiversity’s impact before diagnosis
- moving forward by identifying and leveraging their strengths and abilities and
- creatively equipping my clients with coping mechanisms and practical systems to reach their full potential, both emotionally and practically.
I continuously enhance my knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development activities. I am proudly affiliated with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF), two of the most reputable organisations in the field.
Beyond my professional life, I enjoy horse riding, motorsports, walking my dogs, and engaging in various activities that support relaxation and balance with family and friends. This balance is vital, as it reflects the strengths-based model for ADHD that underpins my passion for identifying and developing healthy systems and support strategies.
My practice, based in Reading, Berkshire, offers both in-person and online services via Zoom or Teams, ensuring accessibility for clients near and far. My extensive experience spans working within both state and private education systems, as well as providing independent services for the NHS within the Complex Trauma Team.
I partner with one of the UK’s most significant national private ADHD assessment organisations and engage in regular professional development training to ensure my knowledge is current and relevant. I hold a full Enhanced DBS Certificate.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your journey towards understanding and managing ADHD, helping you thrive in all aspects of life.
I am open to accept Access To Work clients.
